Event Data Recorder (EDR) and Other System Data Acquisition and Analysis

All modern passenger vehicles and most commercial vehicles are equipped with systems, such as event data recorders (ERD) and other systems, which monitor and store data which can be useful in an accident reconstruction process. These data can include information such as speed, throttle position, engine speed, brake application, and seat belt status at the time an event occurs. In addition to the other physical evidence from the investigation, this additional recorded data can be used to assist our experts in creating a more accurate reconstruction of the incident.

Our data imaging and interpreting services include:

  • EDR data acquisition using the Bosch Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) system and interpretation of these data for passenger vehicles, light trucks, and SUVs.
  • Acquiring and interpreting engine and airbag control module data for many commerical vehicles, including, but not limited to:
    • Detroit Diesel
    • Cummins
    • Catepillar
    • Volvo
